Welcoming students to a safe, accessible, inclusive and supportive environment.
In yoga we tend to have ideologies of what our final destination should be, but what if you decided that you are enough right now as you are? That’s where we can foster a sense of home. I hope you feel at home in your body. Yoga can be an avenue of connection to the body, mind and spirit if you'll allow it. It’s my intent to be attentive and receptive to the needs of my students, while thoughtfully guiding the session towards a greater understanding of oneself. I offer these discoveries through practice of asanas, breath work and meditation while also incorporating strength, rumination, realignment, mindfulness and relaxation. You will integrate, flow, transform and soften. I’m proud to be inclusive for all. Welcoming any experience levels, any ailments or disabilities, ASL and second language communication devices. I have recently stepped away from 6 years in applied behavioral analysis and have significant experience in working specifically with autism, and similarly diverse populations.
Classes / Offerings:
Yoga Sculpt. Focused & gentle repetitions. Taking what you need from this class and leaving what you don’t in child’s pose
Vinyassa. Energetic & playful movement with strengthening & dance incorporation that coordinates breath and movement. Taking what you need from this class and leaving what you don’t in child’s pose.
Hatha. Postures (asans) are static. Moving through asanas is done at a slower pace than vinyassa. With attention to pranayama (breathing techniques) controlled movements, relaxation and meditation (dhyana.)
Restorative. Ruminative, deep breathing, designated stretching, opening, realigning. A relaxing slow practice with the use of props, to fully support the body providing release of mind and body tension.
Yin Yoga. "The quiet practice." In Yin yoga, asanas are held the longest. Much like Hatha and Restorative practices, there’s an emphasis on holding the pose rather than moving through a sequence more quickly, like you would see in Vinyassa.
Pranayama. (Prana "vital enery" ayama "expansion") Deep, intentional breathing that fosters a space for composure and contentment, and suppports the movement of energy.
Meditations. Mindfulness, focused attention, and resting awareness.
